Meet My Client

Childish Things Consignment Boutique is a store located in Boulder, Colorado, that provides a reliable, curated collection of affordable high-end children’s clothes.

Project Overview

As an established store of 34+ years in the Boulder community, Childish Things had a recognized reputation and customer loyalty. However, Child Things wanted to engage with a larger audience to increase foot traffic.

New branding package that I created for Childish Things’ integrated marketing communications plan, including new color scheme, updated logo, infographic, and postcards.

Collecting Usable Data

In collaboration with Kerri, the owner of Childish Things, I gathered data and collected extensive research including:

  • Customer survey
  • In-store interviews
  • Brand loyalist interviews
  • Targeted potential customers interviews

Data-driven Results

Data is great at revealing where efforts and priorities will have the biggest impacts. This is true for Childish Things. Not only did the data reveal new opportunities for growth, but it supported some of the strategies that Childish Things had already implemented. Therefore, owner Kerri learned where to focus her efforts.

What I Did

I developed an integrated marketing communications plan for Childish Things, which effectively communicated to the target audience who Childish Things is as a brand. It also conveyed how to differentiate itself from the competition, including an updated logo and a branding package that is consistent with the new look and feel of the brand. The plan provides important concepts and buzzwords that help tailor the messaging aimed at identified key target customers.

I really enjoyed working with Allison during her project. I was very flattered that she chose my store to work with, and the feedback and data Allison gave me are greatly appreciated. I like being able to look back at survey results when pondering different ideas or thinking of ways to reach my customers. Allison’s help in designing a new logo was really helpful and I really love the new look. Just having all this data, information and ideas for improvement in one place is very helpful. This project can really help a small business. Owners are sometime so caught up in just running the business that they don’t have time or the skill set to come up with a strategic plan like the one Allison did for me.
